We’re equal opportunity nerds here at Nerdist. We love video games and comic books and science, but of course we love geeking out about horror too! That’s why our beloved leader Chris Hardwick and the rest of the Nerdist head honchos first partnered with Nerdist Presents:Â The Hive, a fun and unique horror film, earlier this year.
Above, we proudly present to you the first trailer from Nerdist Presents: The Hive debuted during the Nerdist Industries panel at this year’s Comic-Con just hours ago.
Directed by David Yarovesky and produced by Cary Granat (the Scream franchise), The Hive is a fun, disgusting terror of a love story involving a virus that manifests itself as eye-bulging goo. After a mysterious plane crashes in the woods, couple Adam (Gabriel Basso) and Katie (Kathryn Prescott) investigate only to find a disease that quickly goes pandemic. They must fight through amnesia and disturbing memories to find out what happened and survive.
House musician Steve Aoki — The Hive also features tracks from Aoki’s latest album Neon Future — also serves as executive producer of the film.
James Gunn calls it “the most horrifying and disgusting love story ever,” and later this fall (hopefully September) you can find out why.
