HORROR HAPPENINGS: Nerdist Gets Into the Horror Game and a New SUSPIRIA Gets an Update!

Happy Sunday, horror fans! This week we’re bringing you news about Nerdist getting into the horror game and updates on a noted comedy director finally getting a long-awaited reboot off the ground. Let’s get to it!

ICYMI: Nerdist Presents The Hive

First thing’s first: this week Nerdist announced that we’re getting into the horror game officially by releasing The Hive, an indie flick that gained attention at Fantastic Fest, in theaters and on VOD later this fall. The Hive will have a presence this year at San Diego Comic-Con so be sure to check it out if you’ll be in attendance!

Suspiria Remake Finally Getting Off The Ground?

A few weeks ago, we told you that Dario Argento himself would be overseeing a TV reboot of his classic horror flick Suspiria in Europe. Now, it looks like David Gordon Green, best known for Pineapple Express and Joe, has been vocal about his longstanding desire to remake one of his favorite horror movies. Now, he may have found a director.

While nothing is set in stone, David Gordon Green told the Crave B-Movies Podcast that he has potentially found an Italian director to sit in the director’s chair on a script that he co-wrote. He also elaborates on the nature of financing, working outside the genre that he’s best known for and the wheels that are in motion. Here’s hoping that he’s able to work out all the details! While many love Suspiria, I think it could absolutely benefit from a remake if done right,

What do you think about a Suspiria remake? Are you on board for an updating of the giallo classic? Tell us in the comments!
