Win Hearts (and Brains) with THE WALKING DEAD Valentine’s Day Pudding

Even during the zombie apocalypse—when cravings for brains are at an all-time high—an old fashioned sweet tooth never dies. No one can forget Carl sitting on the roof enjoying his chocolate pudding during the fourth season of The Walking Dead. Now you can recreate that delicious scene yourself by giving your Valentine the ultimate post-apocalyptic treat: a batch of chocolate pudding, complete with an edible zombie hand grasping a candy heart. Aw.

Whether you serve it in a can or an elegant dish, your sweetheart won’t be able to resist this deadly declaration of love.

The Walking Dead: Carl’s Valentine’s Day Pudding
(makes 4)
you’ll need:
The Walking Dead silicone tray
1/3 cup green candy melts
1 cup chocolate cookies, crushed
4 red heart sprinkles

ingredients:
2-1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
pinch of salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Melt the candy melts according to package and spoon into the mold. Tap to get rid of air bubbles, then place in the freezer to set.

In a saucepan, stir together the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch and salt.

Bring to a boil, remove from heat, and stir in the butter and vanilla.

Pour pudding into cans or dishes and place plastic wrap directly onto the pudding. Refrigerate until cool.

Unmold the chocolates, melt one candy melt and use it to adhere the heart sprinkles onto the hands.

Remove the plastic wrap from the pudding, sprinkle with crushed cookies, and add the zombie hands to serve.
