SXSW Saloon Interview: The Cast of SILICON VALLEY Tease Season 3

We live in a world where the top grossing movies of the year are sci-fi/fantasies and comic book action movies. Where a movie about post-apocalyptic car driving can win six Oscars. Where some of the best shows on TV are about nerdy people being nerdy. It’s a great time to be a geek. And one of those aforementioned shows giving our people a leg up in the entertainment industry is HBO’s Silicon Valley, created by Mike Judge. The hilarious trials and tribulations of a group of would-be internet moguls has give us two full seasons of ups and downs, and we’re getting a whole new season to make us laugh and cringe in equal measure.

At Legendary Digital Networks’ Saloon at South by Southwest, our own Dan Casey sat down with four of the cast members of Silicon Valley (Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods, Martin Starr, and Josh Brener) to talk about how the show’s changed since it began, and what we can expect from season 3, premiering April 24. Fans can apparently look forward to “bummer after bummer after bummer” this year, following season 2’s depressing cliffhanger. Probably there’ll be laughs too. This isn’t Shoah.

But the cast also shared the story of how they’ve become the scourge of the Sony lot after getting electric scooters and jackets. They turned their love of whisper-quiet transportation and menacing security guards into a full on Sons of Anarchy-style club: the Rude Boys on the Lot. That should be a meta spinoff right now. We want it.
