How Sansa’s ‘Power Trip’ Will Impact GAME OF THRONES Season 7

From Purple Weddings to father beheadings, we’ve witnessed Sansa Stark go through quite the coming of age over six seasons on Game of Thrones. But that doesn’t mean this little bird has spread her wings all the way just yet. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sophie Turner gave some intriguing clues as to what her character might be up to when the show returns next summer. In the interview Turner said that Sansa will be “seemingly in control for the first time – and it really suits her. She’s kind of having a power trip.” She goes on to add, “she’s also becoming more insecure because there are threats to that power she holds.” Now these threats should come as no surprise to anyone. If there’s one thing you can count on while playing the Game of Thrones it’s that whenever you get the smallest amount of power, someone is going to be coming for it, usually with a full army. But what exactly are these threats and where could they be coming from?

First and foremost, Sansa should be looking out for the Seven Kingdom’s number one creeper, Littlefinger. Peytr Baelish helped her and Jon Snow win the Battle of the Bastards last season and he’s not exactly a “no strings attached” kind of guy. That assist is going to come with some expectations, most likely marriage. And if she rebuffs him, like she’s done so many times before, he may start using his considerable power to hurt her instead of help her. Sansa should also be worrying about threats from outside of Winterfell. We know Jon snow and Daenerys finally meet face to face in season seven, and while Sansa may be the Lady of Winterfell now, she could easily lose that standing if her bastard brother marries the Mother of Dragons.

But maybe the biggest threat Sansa will face in season seven will be herself! We’re already sensing some pangs of jealousy from her for not getting any credit for her family’s military victory over the Boltons last season. That jealousy could easily drive a wedge between her and her brother and drive her down a very Ceresi-esque path.

But what do you guys think Sansa should be worrying about as season seven ramps up next summer? Let us know in the comments.
