Fellow Harry Potter fans and lovers of adorable little animals, you are going to feel like you drank the love potion Amortentia after you see this video of some tiny, furry friends bringing J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world to life. That’s right, it’s Hamster Potter.
This animal adaptation of the Boy-Who-Lived comes from the folks at Mashable Watercooler, and Potter fans will instantly recognize that this is based on the first book/movie, The Sorcerer’s Stone, (yes, yes our international readers, we know it’s The Philosopher’s Stone for you), since Hamster Potter gets to Hogwarts on a boat, meaning he is a first year student, and he sees his parents in the Mirror of Erised.
Now we’d be pretty content with just watching these hamsters run around near some wands, but the execution of the background sets here are so great we’d like to be able to buy them for our own animals to runa round in. And also so we could just play with them.
This video isn’t just great because of how cute the hamsters are, and how silly it is to see them running up and down the staircases to the Gryffindor common room as the adorning hamster portraits move in the background, it’s great because these cute little guys are all rescues from the Westchester Rescued Hamster Haven.
First rescued and then starring in their own production of Harry Potter? Do these hamsters drink water or Felix Felicis? And in their magical world, instead of Animagus do they have Humanagus? Does Lord Hamstermort look like a cat?
