It might not be a lot but you know what? We’ll take what we can get. Especially when it involves dudes with British accents in some of our favorite (and hopefully soon-to-be) new shows. In a new showreel for BBC Oneâthe overseas home of the likes of Sherlock, Doctor Who, Luther, and The Night Managerâwe’re treated to see actual, literal seconds of new footage and the opportunity hear a coupla real nice accents (we’re suckers and we know it).
But outside of the accent ogling, we’re especially intrigued by the brief glimpses we get at Rose Leslie (R.I.P. Ygritte) on Luther. Her new character, Emma Jones, is still a mystery butâfingers crossedâshe carries the crazy Alice Morgan-sized hole left in our hearts since Ruth Wilson is reportedly not returning for the two-part special.
Also fun to see: Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie in The Night Manager, slated to debut on AMC at some point in 2016 (otherwise known as “not nearly soon enough”). We got naturally accented Laurie chatting up an incredibly mysterious (and pool-bound) Hiddles, which was certainly enough to get our interest piqued to new heights about the John le Carré miniseries adaptation.
While we may have already seen the Sherlock footage, it doesn’t matter to our heart of hearts which is simply ready for, and will gladly accept, and and all reminders of Sherlock‘s Christmas special return (and return to the Victorian era). Same goes for Doctor Who, natch.
