TV-Cap: First Look at Luke Mitchell in AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., New OUTLANDER Teaser, & More

It’s Monday morning, and I have Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on my mind. I’m not the only one, right? This season has offered up one exciting development after another, and it’s such an improvement over the slow pace of Season 1. Pretty neat what happens when you give shows time to find their footing, eh? Keep reading and meet the newest Inhuman on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., watch a new teaser for Outlander, learn about what could be the final season of Downton Abbey, and more.

Not Meek and Obedient. Claire has gone on quite the journey in the first eight episodes of Outlander. She’s been forced to take drastic measures to survive and now it’s time for her to do some navel-gazing and learn who she really is. A new teaser for the back half of Season 1 emphasizes who she’s become. Outlander returns on April 4.

Easter Egg Hunt. Archer isn’t just serving up laughs with its latest season, it’s giving fans a scavenger hunt. A serial number placed in Conway Stern’s profile led to a hidden link on the interwebs. That starting point branches off into other areas of the web including fake Craigslist ads, sound clips, and more. And it’s not over. You can follow the scavenger hunt’s path on Imgur. [Nerdist]

Inhuman. You never know where you’ll find cast members from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Joseph McCabe ran into Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Brett Dalton at the red carpet premiere of Disney’s Cinderella and asked them what’s ahead for their characters. Watch the interview.

Luke Mitchell in Agents of SHIELD

Speaking Of… Since we have Inhumans on the brain, let’s take a look at the first image of Luke Mitchell on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from TVLine. He’s playing a “charismatic Inhuman” named Lincoln. He’s slated to show up in the series next month.

No Comedy For You. Orange Is the New Black submitted a petition to the TV Academy to compete as a comedy rather than a drama in this year’s Emmy race. The group has handed back their decision, and they’re keeping the Netflix original series in the drama camp. This follows a new rule that states half-hour shows go in the comedy category while hour-long shows are considered dramas. The Academy did grant comedy waivers for other hour-long series though, including Glee, Jane the Virgin, and Shameless. [Variety]

Good-bye, Crawleys. We’ve heard Maggie Smith say that the next season of Downton Abbey will be her last, but it’s looking as though it might be the final hurrah for everyone. TVLine reports that the family drama will wrap up with Season 6. There haven’t been any official comments on the matter, but it seems that the cast’s contracts expire at the end of Season 6 and that most of them are ready to move on. As someone who would rather see shows end on a high note rather than drag on and on, I feel okay about this. [Vulture]

Happy Endings All Around. The Glee series finale took the show out on a gleeful and emotional note last Friday. The two hour finale marked the end of six seasons, and though I haven’t tuned in since Season 1, I can’t deny the show had an impact on television and pop culture. The Hollywood Reporter talked to some of the cast about the finale.

Deathbolt-The-Flash-03232015

One Rogue for Two Heroes. Doug Jones is playing Deathbolt in an upcoming episode of Arrow (it airs on April 15), but it looks like he’ll also be causing trouble on The Flash. Jones tweeted the above picture and teased that he’ll be in this season’s penultimate episode entitled “Rogue Air.” We’ll have to wait and see to learn if Deathbolt will be the only Arrow character crossing over to Central City. I don’t think Archer Easter Egg hunts should be designed to be too complicated for any agents on the show to actually follow.
