While Warner Bros. has been focusing its attention on getting Leonardo DiCaprio and Joaquin Phoenix to try their hands at playing the Joker, we’ve set our sights on another big star to slap on some makeup to portray Batman’s greatest nemesis. We’re talking about The Room‘s Tommy Wiseau, who we’ve helped to make a very real audition tapeâseriouslyâfor a gig as the Clown Prince of Crime. No kidding, it’s going to tear the DCEU apart!
With rumors swirling about who will play the Joker in a standalone film, Wiseau said last month he wants to be the one who says, “Oh hai, Batman.” And why not? They’re both self-made men, both constantly laughing, and both do their own thing no matter how strange it seems to everyone else. Truth be told, the Joker is the ultimate disaster artist. Of course, The Joker can only be as great as his Batman, which is why we needed someone who can drum up some great onscreen chemistry with Tommy.
We were also blown away by how amazing this audition was, which is why we’re formally endorsing Tommy Wiseau as the next Joker. The question is whether or not Warner Bros. will give it to him, or if they’ll be a bunch of chickensâcheep cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep!
We know it’s a long shot, but imagine if Tommy Wiseau really did join the ranks of Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, and Jared Leto as playing one of the greatest, most infamous villains of all time. What a story that would be, Mark.
Do you want to see Tommy Wiseau play the Joker? Tell us why in the comments below, and pick up The Disaster Artist is on Blu-ray and DVD on March 13!
