Season eight of The Walking Dead is coming to a close, and boy was it was a rough one. So many battle lossesâmost notably The Kingdom, Shiva, and poor Carl. While we all wait on the edge of our seats to see the culmination of Rick versus Negan, how will you be celebrating the season finale? Making nude Rick sculptures like Jadis? Wielding a fiery Lucille? As for us, we’ll be spending our time walker-biting down on some quality zombie footloaf.
This homestyle meatloaf has a little kick, both with the addition of sweet chili sauce and the fact that itâs shaped like an undead foot. Thereâs no better way to get the fam to come running to dinner than to announce that the footloaf is ready to serveâa fight is sure to break out over the onion toenails. Serve up this tasty meat foot when youâre settling in for The Walking Dead finale on April 15!
Walking Dead Footloaf
Youâll need:
Sweet chili sauce, to serve
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
2 cups panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
2 Tablespoons brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
3 eggs
2 cloves garlic, minced
salt and pepper
half a small tomato
1/2 onion, sliced
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil, place a wire rack on top and a piece of parchment on top of the rack. Set aside.
In a large bowl mix together the ground beef, panko, sweet chili sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire Sauce, eggs and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
On top of the parchment on the prepped baking sheet, form a foot out of the meat mixture, shaping toes at the end.
Add the sliced tomato at the ankle part of the foot for the stump. Pour a little bit of sweet chili sauce on top.
Slice onions and place at the end of the toes to form toenails.
Bake for one hour, until cooked through. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve with a side of sweet chili sauce.
