The Spaceman, Jay and Dan, Paul Dini, Brad Meltzer: Upcoming Podcasts

Coming up this week at the Nerdist Podcast Network, subject to the usual disclaimer about scheduling and production and general things-change stuff:

Can’t wait for this week’s editions of The Jonah Keri Podcast, because the first will feature one of my favorite ballplayers when I was a kid, the legendarily unique Bill Lee, The Spaceman, pitcher, iconoclast, smart guy, Vermont gubernatorial candidate, winemaker, subject of the upcoming movie Spaceman (with Josh Duhamel as Bill and co-starring Jonah as “Montreal beat writer”), recorded at Pitch Talks, and the second one is with FS1’s Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole, who have been doing subversively funny work for years, first on TSN in Canada and now on FS1 (and their podcast). Expect much Canada on that one.

Legend of animation Paul Dini will drop by the Nerdist Podcast to talk about his illustrious career, from the early days at Filmation to working on Tiny Toon Adventures and then, of course, Batman: The Animated Series and the creation of Harley Quinn, and you’ll hear about how a fateful and terrible night led to a change in how he deals with life and how working on Batman affected his outlook. He has a new graphic novel about exactly that, “Dark Night: A True Batman Story,” available now.

Bestselling author and Decoded host Brad Meltzer will be on The Writers Panel with novelist Tod Goldberg (the Burn Notice series) — they’ve just launched a new series of novels with the publication of “The House of Secrets,” and if you’re reading this on Sunday, July 10, 2016, you can get the Kindle version on sale for $3.99 today only by clicking here. Another writer on the schedule is science specialist Hamilton Morris, who’s popping up all over the place (Vice, NatGeo) and will be on Love, Alexi to talk about it.

And we promised you a Today We Learned with Logan Browning of Powers (and Meet the Browns, and Hit the Floor) least week, and this week we should deliver. Should. Plus plenty more.

Miss nothing. Simply go to the Nerdist Podcast Network homepage and Facebook page, and subscribe to the shows you prefer, which should be all of them. Listen, learn, love.
