6 Times Superman Was a Super Jerk

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice fighting its way into theaters. Director Zack Snyder’s latest DC Comics cinematic offering opens this week and pits two-thirds of its holy trinity against one another in a superhero slobberknocker for the ages.

Now, if you’re anything like me, you were probably a little confused as to why our two titular heroes were beating the ever-loving hell out of one another. After all, they’re supposed to kiss and make up to form the Justice League in time for a movie on November 17, 2017. More importantly, you’re likely confused as to how and why Superman gets himself embroiled in this mess in the first place. I mean, Batman going rogue makes sense based on his attitude and deep-seated paranoia and terrifying worldview, but Superman is supposed to be a boy scout. He’s supposed to be better than the rest of us.

Except he isn’t.

Far from it, in fact.

As I discovered in my research, Superman hasn’t always been a spandex-clad defender of truth, justice, and the American way. Rather, he has been a real piece of human garbage (or Kryptonian garbage, I should say). And today on The Dan Cave, I’m going to show you six times that Superman was a super asshole.

What’s your favorite instance of Superman or a superhero being a total jerk? Let us know in the comments below.
