Telltale’s GAME OF THRONES EPISODE THREE Launch Trailer is Here

At this point, anything Game of Thronesrelated is like milk of the poppy for a dying man — exactly what the maester ordered. While we count down the days until season 5 officially kicks off on HBO on April 12, there is something to buoy your spirits: the latest trailer for Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones Episode Three – “The Sword in the Darkness”, which just released this morning.

Last week, Telltale unveiled some fascinating screenshots that left players of the adventure game series filled with questions. Why is Tyrion in custody of the Kingsguard? Where the hell did that giant black dragon come from? Why is Jon Snow permanently lost in a dreamy, brooding gaze into the middle distance? Some questions aren’t meant to be answered, but the new trailer does give us the sense that things are about to come to a head, which is welcome news after two episodes that had to accomplish quite a bit of tablesetting to establish the stakes and introduce us to the game’s myriad playable characters.

In the trailer, we see glimpses of Essos, King’s Landing, The Wall, and Ironrath where each member of House Forrester seems to be living their own private hell. The Whitehills continue their attempted hostile takeover of Ironrath, Lady Mira dives deeper into King’s Landing skullduggery, Asher has an uncomfortably close encounter with Drogon, and shit continues to go down at Castle Black. To quote Ramsay Snow, “If you thought this was going to have a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.” We’ll do wise to remember that lesson as we play the latest episode of the series which, as Telltale tweeted out, will be available this week.
