Team Cap Assembles In New CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Posters

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to explode in Captain America: Civil War. In just under two months, Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) will come to blows over the future of the Avengers, so the studio’s released a new set of Captain America: Civil War solo character posters that features most of Cap’s team in the coming conflict.

Captain America

Joining Team Cap are the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd). The Falcon was an obvious choice for Cap’s team, since Sam Wilson is Steve Rogers’ closest friend in the present. (Conversely, the Winter Soldier—a.k.a. Bucky Barnes—was Cap’s best bud in World War II.) Hawkeye actually has the most to lose by joining Captain America’s superhero rebellion, since Avengers: Age of Ultron revealed that he has a family to think about. Presumably Clint Barton is so loyal to Cap that he brought his Hawkeye persona back into the fold.

Ant-Man is running with Team Cap at the personal request of the Falcon, whom Scott Lang presumably befriended after the events of his solo movie. Scarlet Witch, however, is still a bit of an enigma in the MCU: Wanda Maximoff ultimately sided with the Avengers in Age of Ultron, but it remains unclear just how deeply her allegiance runs.

You can see the rest of the posters in our gallery below. There’s one member of Team Cap who was left out of these posters: Emily VanCamp’s Agent 13, a.k.a Sharon Carter. And it should be interesting to see how the MCU explains Sharon’s connection to the more famous Agent Carter in her family.

Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters on Friday, May 6.
