Movie Morsels: New “Team Cap vs. Team Iron Man” CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Promo Art

Warning: today’s installment of Movie Morsels is positively dripping with testosterone. Adjust your hormone levels accordingly… But then, in addition to the latest on Captain America: Civil War, John Wick: Chapter Two, and xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, we’ve also got a new IMAX documentary trailer narrated by Jennifer Lawrence, whose Katniss Everdeen could no doubt defeat any of the men herein. So there’s that.

Captain America: Civil War

Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters on May 6, which means you have two months to choose a side in the war between Team Cap and Team Iron Man. Marvel is doing its best to stoke the fires of battle with some new promo art tweeted by the heroes and former teammates themselves…

Whichever side you choose, you’ll be standing alongside Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Frank Grillo, Tom Holland, William Hurt, and Daniel Brühl when the war begins.

John Wick: Chapter Two

John-Wick

In a new interview with IGN, Keanu Reeves whets our appetites for John Wick: Chapter Two, the sequel to his surprise comeback action flick…

“For us,” says the actor, “it was just what is the next chapter? What is the continuation of this story? Opening up the world – the underground world. The world behind the world in terms of the assassins. Kind of evolving the action – if the first one was a black belt, then this one is third degree black belt. It’s such a fun project and a great character.”

Reeves confirms that Chapter Two will be set in Rome, and reunite him with his Matrix co-star Laurence Fishburne…

“Laurence has this fantastic role as a character in the Underworld called The Bowery King. He plays such a great character in the piece and he brings of course humour, intelligence, charisma and fascination – he’s such an incredible actor and it was a pleasure to work with him again.”

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

xXx

Our boy Vinnie D has found himself a love interest for his return to the role of extreme sports enthusiast/secret agent Xander Cage in the third xXx film: Miss Universe 2015 runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez (a.k.a. Miss Columbia). D.J. Caruso directs the January 20, 2017 release.

No Exit

kosinski-feat

There haven’t been enough great films about firefighters, given the sacrifice that the profession requires, especially when compared to the number of movies we’ve seen about police officers. So here’s hoping Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski’s No Exit bucks the trend. At least it’s attracting some decent talent—Miles Teller and Josh Brolin have just signed on.
