Stop What You’re Doing and Download NASA’s Latest Space Tourism Posters

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has a knack for pumping out amazing art, but the latest set of space tourism posters is bar none. Not only does it feature some of 2015’s most exciting scientific discoveries, but this time around, the team has gotten space-punny.

Slow clap, guys. Slow clap.

The images, commissioned as part of the 2016 “Visions of the Future” calendar project, were designed by Seattle-based firm Invisible Creature studios. For founders Don and Ryan Clark, a sibling duo with long ties to the space program, the job was particularly special.

“We, of course, were ecstatic, just because our grandfather was an illustrator at NASA for 30 years, and so this is kind of our first NASA project,” they told The Verge. Working closely with NASA engineers, scientists, and in-house designers, the collaboration resulted in 12 new posters, all of which can be downloaded in full HD glory at the JPL website (including 8 additions to last year’s exoplanet travel series).

The stunner of the set has been dubbed, “The Grand Tour,” an homage to NASA’s 1970s Voyager missions, which helped us map the solar system as never before. At last count, Voyager 1 – the first probe to touch the space between stars – was about 12 billion miles (19 billion kilometers) from our sun, an accomplishment well worthy of the poster’s ink.

Explore Enceladus’ liquid-water ocean, dive below the ice of Europa, or take a walk across Mars’ red sands. One thing’s for certain, it’s impossible to look through the series and not want to suit up immediately. “That stuff’s in our wheelhouse,” says the team. “It’s the stuff that we love to do.”
