Do Leaked THE FLASH Set Photos Reveal DR. LIGHT?

CW’s The Flash is already adding a ton of new speedsters for their upcoming second season, like Wally West, Jay Garrick, and Jesse Quick. However, super fast heroes aren’t the only DC good guys looking to join in on the fun. Recently it was revealed that the producers of the show were looking to bring in the character of Japanese scientist Dr. Kimiyo Hoshi, better known to comics fans as the super heroic Doctor Light for season two the show.

Now photos have surfaced via a Twitter account called Canadagraphs of scenes being filmed for an upcoming episode of The Flash, and what looks like a woman with black hair wearing Dr. Light’s traditional black and white outfit (or at least what looks like her outfit from behind). In one of the shots, you can see that the actress also seems to have some kind of headgear on, which fits with Dr. Light’s traditional comics look. No actress has been announced for the part yet, but with these set pic leaks, I’d expect an announcement shortly.

There’s been a Doctor Light character in DC Comics lore for some fifty years now, although the original Doctor Light was a man and a longtime Justice League and Teen Titans villain (who eventually had a prominent and controversial role in the mini-series Identity Crisis).

In the epic 1985 DC series Crisis on Infinite Earths, a second Doctor Light was created when Dr. Hoshi’s exposure to the star Vega gifted her with photokinesis, or the ability to control all forms of light with her mind (although she does require a light source in order to use her powers). Unlike her predecessor, she chose to be a good guy. Although she might not  have wanted to name herself after a villain and wear a version of his costume. She went on to join multiple versions of the Justice League over the next several years, and has become a DCU mainstay.

Are you stoked to see another obscure hero from the pages of the comics join the DC TV universe? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
