Screen Junkies Do It Again with an Honest Trailer for AGE OF ULTRON

We here at Nerdist.com are huge fans of the folks over at Screen Junkies and all the wonderful things they do. If we had to pick one thing we love the most about them – other than the many times our very own Kyle Anderson makes appearances – has got to be their Honest Trailer series. Picking apart the movies we love is one of our favorite hobbies, but Screen Junkies have made it a symphony.

Shedding light on plot holes, inaccuracies and general WTF moments in some of our favorite films, they have now set their sights on the 2015 blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron. From the get-go, they address one of the major problems with the MCU being that it’s hard to have high stakes in standalone films when you’ve already established there’s a team “assembled” to stop world threatening events. The fact Age of Ultron turned out to be more of an overcrowding of characters and a holding pattern for future plot threads is a fact not lost in this trailer.

They say what most of us thought (although maybe didn’t want to admit) about rushed and shoe-horned subplots that did more to set up sequels than add much of anything to this film itself other than giving a bit of screen time to every character. Sadly, they even go so far as to recap the “breaking” of director Joss Whedon and how the film seemingly caused him to quit twitter and turn his back on the MCU.

Best of all, they hit the nail on the head when it comes to the exaggerated original title correcting it as “Avengers: Roughly One Week Of Ultron”
