If you were thinking that the guitar needed a design re-vamp, you’re in luck. Italian guitar maker Nicola Pavan of Pavan Wood Works has created a fully-functional guitar with a body and headstock made from — wait for it — LEGO bricks. And as you can see from the video above, it looks and plays just like a real electric guitar! Why didn’t we think of this?
This guitar was in development for five years and built over the course of six days. Pavan says that the hardest part was getting all the necessary pieces, but luckily his friends were willing to contribute. After all, most people have at least a few LEGO bricks in their collection.
The body is made entirely out of LEGO bricks, held together by its interlocking sections and a touch of glue. The neck and bridge use the traditional materials, maintaining the integrity of the instrument. Pavan recently exhibited his guitar at Italy’s Home Festival, where he amazed onlookers. Since then, fans have stepped forward to test it out for themselves. And so far, people are pretty impressed.
Pavan usually works with wood, but in the past he’s experimented with LED lights, denim, and leather to construct guitars. Check out the gallery below for more images of this special guitar.
What do you think of the design? Would you swap out your guitar with a LEGO one (Hint: Nicola, make more please)? Let us know in the comments below.
