RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER Gameplay and Details from Xbox E3 Showcase

Today at Microsoft’s Xbox One showcase for E3, there’s been a ton of news flying around pertaining to exclusive titles to be expected for release in 2015. One of the many highly-anticipated names on that list was Rise Of The Tomb Raider. Sequel to the 2013 reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise, Microsoft announced last year that they would be releasing the game as an exclusive on their current generation console. This year’s E3 showcase for Xbox not only brought the official announcement of the game’s release date (November 10, 2015), but also a first look at gameplay footage from the action adventure title.

The video above gives us a look at the stunning mountain environment we’ve been seeing in the previous trailers for the game, as well as the return of Lara’s ice ax and climbing mechanics as Lara and Jonah ascend an icy mountain in search of ancient ruins. The video also previews some of the stunning graphical capability the current XBox offers and the stunning animation work of Lara jumping from one sheet of ice to another during her climb. The game gives way to an adrenaline-fueled escape from an avalanche and it’s only 5 minutes of footage!

The game will be competing for shelf space against Bethesda’s Fallout 4 on November 10th of this year, and we’ll keep you updated with more information about the game as it becomes available. What do you think of what we’ve seen so far? Excited?! Let us know in the comments below and s
