Nintendo Is Releasing a POKÉMON: LET’S GO Switch with Limited Edition Joy-Cons

During its decades in the video game business, Nintendo has a storied history of releasing their consoles in a variety of colors and designs. The original Game Boy was available in multiple colors, and that’s a spirit that Nintendo’s handhelds have maintained to this day, as new editions of the 3DS and 2DS family are getting releases in new styles on a regular basis. With the Switch, Nintendo has made it easier than ever to customize the look of your console: if you want to change the color, just get some new controllers. To celebrate Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee!, Nintendo has announced they will be offering a limited edition Switch console that pays big-time homage to the games.

The bundle includes a Switch console and dock that are both special editions, Joy-Cons that are Pikachu- and Eevee-colored, a digital copy of one Pokémon: Let’s Go game, and a Poké Ball Plus controller. It looks pretty slick, check it out:

This news was also accompanied by the announcement of more Pokémon: Let’s Go game features. Most notably, Surfing Pikachu is back in a big way. For what I believe is the first time in a Pokémon game, surfing will involve an actual surf board, as you’ll be able to navigate watery areas with Pikachu and a board. There’s also a new exclusive move in the game, Splishy Splash, which, based on gameplay footage, looks like Surf but with Pikachu riding a wave. Eevee also gets a trio of new moves that pay homage to its evolutionary forms: Bouncy Bubble, Buzzy Buzz, and Sizzly Slide.

What do you think of the new Switch console? What about the new game features? Let us know what you think in the comments!
