Music Geek Track Of The Day: Feel The Beat Drop In This Dancey GAME OF THRONES Theme Remix

So, in case you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know by now that season five of HBO’s Game of Thrones drops on Sunday. But that isn’t the only thing dropping in Westeros (and no we don’t mean all that winter ish. Please)—the beat hits the ground like a slain wildling in this EDM’d out iteration of the series’ theme song. Who cares if it’s cold and the ominous creatures north of the Wall are about the descend upon us all? So long as the beat is fresh, we’re sure to survive.

Dreamed up by Andy Favre—better known by his musical moniker, Alpine Universe—a 27-year-old musician from Europe (the part where the Alps are, hence the name), Favre’s take on the Ramin Djawadi original is full of sick beats, dance-y treats, and a heck of a lot of sword noises. Who knew that the metallic clang of Valyrian steel would be so much fun to dance to?

Besides, only Westeros could make an electronic accordion sound this freakin’ cool. Now somebody go make a mashup video of the cast dancing set to this song. That is sure to bring a bit of peace to the Seven Kingdoms, no?

What makes it all extra fun is the fact that you can download it — for free! — right now on the Alpine Universe website (click right here, do it do it!).

The night is dark and full of sick beats, y’all. Heard any other good remixes of the theme song lately? Let us hear ’em in the comments.
