Before you do anything, take a look at this exquisite Rear Window time-lapse posted on Nerdist earlier today. Once youâve soaked in that experience, find a way to get to Austin, TX, because Laurent Durieux is opening his first solo show at Mondo Gallery today, and itâs nothing short of spectacular.
If you are a fan of sci-fi, film, or pop art and donât know Durieux, an illustrator and graphic artist from Brussels, you should rectify that immediately. His art lives and breathes pop culture, from giant robots amidst futuristic cityscapes to celluloid monsters and modern action heroes. Check out some of his previous work here.
Collider has the first look at a few of Durieuxâs pieces that will be on sale at the Mondo gallery. These Hitchcock-inspired prints, featuring classic scenes from The Birds, Vertigo, and Rear Window, are just a taste of whatâs to come.
Now if you donât mind, Iâll just be over here trying to finagle a trip to Austin⦠Iâll take one of each, please!
The opening reception for “The Art of Laurent Durieux” begins tonight, February 7th, from 7-10pm. The exhibit will be on display until March 1st, and is located at Mondo Gallery, 4115 Guadalupe St., in Austin, TX.
