Laurent Durieux’s Gorgeous Hitchcock Prints Open at Mondo Gallery

Before you do anything, take a look at this exquisite Rear Window time-lapse posted on Nerdist earlier today. Once you’ve soaked in that experience, find a way to get to Austin, TX, because Laurent Durieux is opening his first solo show at Mondo Gallery today, and it’s nothing short of spectacular.

If you are a fan of sci-fi, film, or pop art and don’t know Durieux, an illustrator and graphic artist from Brussels, you should rectify that immediately. His art lives and breathes pop culture, from giant robots amidst futuristic cityscapes to celluloid monsters and modern action heroes. Check out some of his previous work here.

Collider has the first look at a few of Durieux’s pieces that will be on sale at the Mondo gallery. These Hitchcock-inspired prints, featuring classic scenes from The Birds, Vertigo, and Rear Window, are just a taste of what’s to come.

Now if you don’t mind, I’ll just be over here trying to finagle a trip to Austin… I’ll take one of each, please!

The opening reception for “The Art of Laurent Durieux” begins tonight, February 7th, from 7-10pm. The exhibit will be on display until March 1st, and is located at Mondo Gallery, 4115 Guadalupe St., in Austin, TX.

Psst. Love Mondo? Don’t miss a chance to win an awesome Lego Mondo poster by Tom Whalen. Pay special attention to Mondo’s Twitter today for a chance to win.
