Inked Wednesday #74 – STAR WARS, David Bowie, and More

Knuckles provide a unique tattooing canvas. You can spell out words, quotes, or use the space as an opportunity to show off your favorite symbol. The featured design in this week’s Inked Wednesday is all about Star Wars helmets. It includes a Stormtrooper helmet, Boba Fett’s bucket, Darth Vader, and an X-wing pilot with tiny little Rebel Alliance symbols. The only negative to knuckle tattoos? They’re pretty impossible to cover unless you want to wear gloves all the time, so you have to be extra committed to them. But why wouldn’t you be committed to a design like this?

It’d be hard to capture color and great detail on that scale, but it’d be fun to feature colored Imperial helmets on one hand and Rebel helmets on the other.

Head to the gallery below to see permanent art featuring David Bowie, the Ice King from Adventure Time, and a Star Wars and Calvin and Hobbes mash-up inspired by Brian Kesinger’s fan art (and yes, we did just talk about tattoos inspired by fan art last Wednesday so the timing is perfect).

Have geeky ink of your own to share? I want to see pictures! You can get them to me by leaving a link to images in the comments, tagging or mentioning me on Instagram, or sending me photos on Twitter. Feel free to get in on the Inked Wednesday action if you’re a tattoo artist, too. If you’re not the artist, please tell me who is because credit is cool.
