There’s cute, and then there’s omg-that’s-so-adorable-I-can’t-stand-it-all-the-squee-cute, and Comic-Con definitely had its fair share of the latter. Amongst the superheroes and zombies there were little niches of kawaii that stood out and made your heart puddle right onto the con floor. Here are some of our faves from the land of cute.
Disney Tsum Tsums
There’s nothing more adorable than Disney plush and nothing more addictive than the Disney Tsum Tsum game. While small tsums have been on the market for a while, the big Con reveal was the 21-inch Mega Tsum, clothing line, lip balm. We’re sure there’s much more irresistibly stackable fun to come.
Hold Your Pea by Conduct Happiness
Puns, puns, we need more puns and Conduct Happiness is the king of pea (pee) puns. Funny with huge side of adorableness, their line of pea related wear, art and accessories is hilarious and sweet. Pea in the pool, pea standing up, hold your pea, we get it and it’s charming and adorable.
Everyday Love – The Art of Nidhi Chanani
This Small Press booth is always packed, from new fans to her Instagram followers who want to see her latest creations. Nidhi’s artwork is thoughtful and beautiful and now she’s expanded into laser cut jewelry and pins. The art seems to come to life in the pendants and the cut work is absolutely stunning. Now it’s easy to wear your cute Everyday Love, everyday!
The Beastlies by Leslie Levings
Another Small Press fave, The Beastlies have a loyal following of SDCC fans who seek them out year after year. Tiny Niblets are even smaller versions of the already handful-sized Beastlies. Seriously, how can you resist those little eyes staring at you?
Donut Purse by Lace and Lore
A purse, that looks like a donut. I can’t even handle it. The weekend hadn’t even hit and the Lace & Lore booth had already sold out of these sugary sweet handbags. The cuteness overload was too much to bear.
Inside Out Itty Bittys by Hallmark
I’ve spoken of my love of Itty Bittys many a time but this is over the top cuteness. The biggest cosplay this Con was Inside Out and fans have embraced those characters full tilt. These tiny plush are just the right size for expressing your emotions during the day. I say put one out on your office desk to warn everyone if you’re feeling Angry…
