HEROES OF THE STORM Launches DIABLO-Themed ETERNAL CONFLICT

The battle has raged on in Heroes of the Storm since its June 2nd release, but it has now been infiltrated by the ancient war that’s been waged since the beginning of time between demons and angels. The Eternal Conflict from Diablo has invaded the Nexus. This conflict is what Blizzard is calling an epic multi-week in-game event where the players must choose a side to fight for. Of course, this means more goodies will be added for your consumption. First, three new characters will be added from the Diablo universe, a variety of Diablo-themed skins and mounts, and last but not least, two new battlegrounds to wage war against your enemies.

For a glimpse of one of the fierce combatants, peep the video above. That hellish fella in the video is the Butcher, a demon who collects fresh meet for a little power boost. Scary! Joining him will also be Leoric, the Mad King of Khanduras, and the Monk. While out on the battleground, you may want to be on the lookout for the infamous Treasure Goblins of Diablo fame, because once eliminated, they will reward the players with in-game gold.

As for the new “Battlefield of Eternity”, it will have players defending their core from incoming forces of heaven or hell, depending on what side you’re on. You will also be tasked with providing support for the giant Angel or Demon immortal on your side, while the middle of the map is where most of the action will take place. This will be the first time in this title’s extremely short history to include a stage from an already existing Blizzard universe.

CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, Mike Morhaime, had this to say about the new additions: “We’re excited to bring the world of Diablo deeper into the Nexus and introduce our first Battleground based on an existing universe”. He continues, “Players are in for a hellishly good time with the Butcher and other Heroes on the Battlefield of Eternity, and we can’t wait to add more Diablo-themed content to Heroes of the Storm as the Eternal Conflict wages on.”

If you ever doubted Blizzard’s ability to capitalize on their storied franchises? Well doubt no more! Being able to pull different items and characters from their successful history gives them a leg up over their competition. Now it’s about providing a good time to players with these new additions.

Make sure to let us know in the comments below which character you’ll be adding to your arsenal.
