The Cosplay at BlizzCon was So Epic We Made a Video About It

If you’re anything like us, you enjoy staring in awe and amazement at convention cosplay. It’s when folks go all-out, spending months and months on turning hundreds of yards of fabric (and sheets and sheets of foam) into the characters from their favorite gaming, movie, and television properties. But this year’s BlizzCon was something else entirely: it was chockablock with some of the most intricate and well-executed cosplay we’ve ever seen. From StarCraft to Diablo to World of Warcraft, there was nary a Blizzard Entertainment-based stone unturned.

So, we sent Lisa S. out onto the BlizzCon floor this year to talk to the best and brightest of cosplay perfection and find out just how long it took to make these intricate creations. From Volgen to Hagan the Unclean, and even a seriously badass-lookin’ Hydralisk, no one was messing around at this particular con. What’s more? The average time it took most of these ‘players to get their gear great? About 200 hours. (That’s a lotta time!) And by the looks of the finished products? Totally worth it!

What do you think of all the amazing cosplay? Have you checked out any of our other coverage from BlizzCon 2015? (Uh, if not either lie and said you did or go click on that link right now verdamnit!) Let us know in the comments below.

Alicia Lutes is the Managing Editor of The Nerdist and would probably cosplay as all of the Orphan Black sestras at once if she had to choose. Find her on Twitter (@alicialutes).
