6 WARCRAFT Stories That Would Make Amazing Sequels

For the Alliance! For the Horde! For the love of all that is good and nerdy, let’s get excited that 22 years after the original game’s release we are finally getting a feature film adaptation of Warcraft!

Directed by Duncan Jones, Warcraft transports viewers to the realm of Azeroth to tell the story of the very first encounter between the Orcs, who fled their dying homeworld of Draenor, and the Humans, who were pretty thrilled not to have massive, brutish hordes of axe-wielding monsters all up in their grill. It’s a bloody saga of loyalty, love, betrayal, and murders most foul… but it’s also one of the most straightforward entries in Warcraft‘s sprawling lore.

Like the beginning of a season of Game of Thrones or the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Warcraft does a lot of tablesetting and worldbuilding, laying the foundation for what could hopefully evolve into an epic film series. But what stories would those future films tell? Well, today on The Dan Cave, I’m going to highlight six stories that would make for truly epic sequels to Warcraft—especially on a screen the size of Ragnaros.

Warcraft opens everywhere on June 10.
