Here’s a Preview of the MIRROR’S EDGE CATALYST Beta

As if the month of May wasn’t jam-packed enough with Uncharted 4, Doom, and Overwatch, we’ll also finally be getting our hands on the highly sought after release of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Approximately 8 years have passed since we went on our last run with Faith Connors, and EA is giving players a chance to rekindle that parkour flame with a closed beta next month. Arekkz Gaming has posted a video to give us all a look at what players will have access to when the beta goes live on April 22.

Faith’s perspective looks stellar on the Frostbite 3 engine. Also, the switch up from the linear style of play of the first game will prove to be a welcome change for the series. Dying Light showed us that free-running is done better within an open-world sandbox, so kudos to EA DICE for applying this formula to Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and allowing players to explore the bright cityscape of Glass.

If you’re lucky enough to be selected, you can try the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst closed beta for yourself when it goes live next weekend on April 22 through 26. Others will have to wait for the full game when it hits the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms on May 26. Does this look like a day one buy to you? Frog leap into the comments with your thoughts below.
