MIRROR’S EDGE in Real Life is a 4-Minute Adrenaline Rush

Ho. Lee. Crap, you guys. For anyone that has seen the story we ran of the Grand Theft Auto in real life video, forget everything about that. This video is freaking awesome. Filmmaker, photographer, and YouTuber Claudiu Voicu offers us a fully first-person video that is built to be a time trial run in the upcoming reboot to the freerunning video game, Mirror’s Edge. The catch is the entire video is being performed by actual freerunners and shot on Go Pro cameras.

I have to say, this one of the most impressive things I have seen in a while. To turn cynical and comment on things like editing and video trickery truly would take away from the effect of this video. There were moments I actually felt my knees get weak while watching some of the jumps.

It seems obvious that Claudiu is a fan of the freerunning community, since the only other video on his YouTube channel, other than camera tests, is a short film highlighting a group of freerunners. Most likely the same freerunners that he used for the Mirror’s Edge video. You can also see some of the same locations used in both videos, such as the mess of pipes that get climbed up and the glass roof warehouse. Is this enough to pull you out of the video? Hell, no. This stuff is still crazy.
