This Real Life Adaptation of GRAND THEFT AUTO V is Spot on

It’s been nearly two years since Grand Theft Auto V released, and it seems Rockstar’s popular sandbox title always manages to find itself in the headlines in one way or another. Whether it’s because of the amazing PC mods, a legit tribute to Breaking Bad, or even the GTA drama that’s on its way to BBC, it is safe to say that we just can’t get enough of the franchise. Ensuring that the fun doesn’t stop, the Corridor Digital team–who also brought us the hilariously strange The Order: 1986 video–created an impressive GTA V video set in real life Los Angeles.

Feast your eyes on the glorious video at the top of the page. Though we’ve seen our fair share of real life versions of GTA, this one clearly takes the cake and is extremely spot on. L.A. natives were already aware of the striking accuracy of some of the landmarks in the Los Santos–which are based on actual locations– and this work puts that on display for the rest of the world. Among the locations visited are places like Venice Beach (Vespucci Beach), and Griffith’s Observatory (Galileo’s Observatory).

Additionally, the camera angles used, movement style, and even the gunfights all stay true to the game. There is even a part (mimicking the Snapmatic feature) where the player takes a selfie, and several other clever details like money dropping from conquered foes, a woman upset after having her car stolen, and a visit to Ammunation. The attention to detail is excellent.

To get a closer look at how they did it, check out the “Making of” video down below.
