Gaming Daily: DESTINY is Getting Much Needed Improvements

Don’t Wednesdays just remind you of a talking camel? Surely we can’t be alone on this. Anyways, lets get down to business, because it has indeed been a busy day. Just in case you missed it, we got a closer look at The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which you can read here. If you are aren’t interested in reading about having sex on a unicorn, however, we got you covered with the news of the day. In today’s Gaming Daily: Bungie explains the new upgrade system that will be available for all Destiny Players, Axiom Verge will release on PC May 14th, and Tony Hawk teases his upcoming game on Twitter. Let’s get to the grind.

DESTINY HOUSE OF WOLVES 04222015

Upgrading gear will become simpler than ever before.

With the House of Wolves Destiny DLC launch just around the corner, Bungie decided to allow their fans a peak into what their… Um, destiny holds. They took it upon themselves to show off The Reef, another social hub world that will provide new vendors and missions. More importantly, they decided to delve deeper into the drastic changes that are coming to their upgrade system. You will be able to trade ascendant shards for ascendant energy straight up for each other and vice versa. This should provide less rage-inducing moments, like when you need one shard but instead get 20 energies drop. This should also decrease the amount of luck needed to upgrade your rad weapons. All you need to do is go talk to the Speaker in The Tower to exchange goods, thus cutting Xur out of the equation for exotic upgrades. The sketchy merchant, however, will still appear on a schedule with purchasable items.

Old gear will also become relevant once again, with the ability to ‘ascend’ your items, through a new upgrade item called etheric light–which levels up weapons and armor to a relevant level. This is great news for those that put in a lot of hard work to attain all of the Vault of Glass and Dark Below sets.

Everything that’s being tuned and fixed is great and has been needed for so long now. It is just unfortunate that the changes are coming in so late. It will be interesting to see how the community responds to the update and whether it will bring back old faces. The best part of all of this is that none of these improvements will be restricted to those who purchase the DLC. If you want more information, Bungie will be streaming every Wednesday on Twitch until the expansion releases.

Axiom Verge to glitch onto PC May 14th.

If you missed out on the Metroid inspired Axiom Verge on the PS4, rejoice! The game will finally be making an appearance on PC May 14th. Many that have played the title have enjoyed it quite a bit, but the fact that it only appeared on the PS4 has unfortunately cut out some people from enjoying it. There won’t be too many new additions to the PC version other than some Steam specific features like Steam Cloud Save and Trading Cards.

As we previously mentioned, Axiom Verge is most definitely inspired by Metroid with its color schemes, mechanics, and even the environment, but it focuses more on weapons. It is a whole lot of classic fun. Interestingly enough, there is supposedly a Vita version that’s supposed to come out, but no date for its release has been revealed.

Tony Hawk teases new game on Twitter.

After some unwanted leaks, it came to light that a new Tony Hawk title was on its way. Once it wasn’t much of a secret, the man himself let the world know that a new skating game was in the works. Well, now Mr. Hawk has shared a video on Twitter, teasing the upcoming title. The video shows off skater, Rob Wootton, recreating the “create your own character” screen, even mimicking the silly poses and movements the characters make. It is all in fun, and is fairly comical to see the real life reenactment.

Not much is known about the next Tony Hawk Pro Skater game, other than the fact that it is an actual thing. There have been no screen shots, no dates, and no footage. This tweet doesn’t fix that. There should be more information on the pipeline since the legend himself is teasing it on the web.

That marks another end to another Wednesday. A lot of good news for fans of the classics and even fans that enjoy space shooters. Kick flip your way to the comments section below and let us know if you are going to return to the universe of Destiny. Be safe Guardians.
