GAME OF THRONES’ Myriad Machinations on Display in New Clips and Photos

If you’re anything like us, the 25 days to go until the return of Game of Thrones on HBO might feel downright excrutiating. All that waiting! All that time! Don’t they understand that winter is coming? And we’ve got a billion questions with answers we need to know? We suppose that’s why they decided, then, to release a bunch of new pictures and two, super ominous-sounding clips that document the ways in which this game has changed, and showcase the new power players of the Realm.

Perhaps the biggest reveal is our first look at the new Myrcella Baratheon — having been recast from Aimee Richardson with Nell Tiger Free (which is a real name, making the wistful, cool British teen within me seethe with jealousy) — who, alongside Trystane Martell (Toby Sebastian) looks awfully ready to mutiny against the Realm which seeks to diminish her value as a viable heir to the Iron Throne. Because — hey now! — why does it always have to be the boys that get to rule, eh? Sounds like this one takes after her mommy dearest, Cersei Lannister.

Other photos give us a closer glimpse at the Sand Snakes and a seriously powerful-looking Jon Snow. Guess this boy has learned a thing or two now that he’s beaten back Mance Rayder’s epic Wilding brigade. You’re the man now, diredog!

There are also two clips (!!!) featuring Snowboy and our favorite imp, Tyrion Lannister, that showcase just how differently things are about to go. Not as though that comes as a surprise to anyone: there is no such thing as the status quo in Westeros.

Everyone’s making plans for the greater good! What a refreshing change, huh? Our guess is it won’t last for long. Because Martin.

What do you think of the new clips and photos? Let us hear it in the comments!
