GAME OF THRONES Will Shoot Multiple Series Endings to Combat Spoilers

After all the hacking issues and accidental leaks that plagued Game of Thrones last season, HBO is mad as seven bloody hells and they’re not going to take it anymore! Granted, it’s basically impossible these days to keep all production details a secret, what with thousands of people working on the show, thousands more are staking out airports and shooting sites with cameras, and more still hacking in to the network’s system to steal episodes of the series.

So since they can’t guarantee that they’ll hide anything from the public, when it comes to Game of Thrones‘ series finale the network is going to at least make sure that no one can be certain that what they’ve discovered is the truth–they’re going to film multiple endings to the show.

In news we first came across at Buzzfeed, HBO’s president of programming Casey Bloys told an audience at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania that they’re going to attempt some misdirection with the series finale.

“They’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens. You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

What a maester stroke. People may well wind up knowing “something,” but they won’t know if it’s “nothing” or “everything.” And even if some hacker gets ahold of every version of the finale, it’d just lead to the sort of mass fan theorization Thrones viewers are going to have set forth by then anyway.

In short, this means we can all experience the ending together. And that’s a good thing, because with the way this show rips out our hearts, we’re gonna need all the support we can get.

What do you think of this plan? Will it work or not? Tell us why in the comments below.
