Dissecting the Hidden Secrets of the New STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer

Is it safe to say Christmas came early for Star Wars fans this year? No, don’t talk about how far away Christmas is! Christmas can’t get here soon enough. After watching the newest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we can’t wait to see J.J. Abrams breathe new life into the saga of the Skywalker lineage. We’re going into Hypersleep for the next 57 days. Don’t wake us until this countdown clock is at zero. (Actually wake us a little earlier than that, because some of us have tickets for Thursday night.)

After releasing a gorgeous official poster and a few new teaser trailers over the weekend, the world finally got their final preview of the action to come in the long-awaited Episode VII. Airing during Monday Night Football‘s halftime break, (did you know that in football, the final two minutes of a quarter last for what feels like half an hour?), the two-and-a-half minute trailer is full of new appearances by Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, Han Solo, and Leia that flooded us with emotions and gave us chills–appearances that we will now dissect for all possible meanings and potential plot details. Notably missing: any signs of C-3PO, Maz Kanata, or Supreme Leader Snope, as well as any new footage of Luke Skywalker, his gloved hand reaching up to R2-D2 already appearing in the previously released trailer. What could it mean?!

Join Jessica Chobot as we go into extreme detail breaking down the trailer shot-by-shot, examining everything we could possibly learn about what will be the first in a long line of many new Star Wars movies to come, on today’s Nerdist News.

Thanks for watching today’s episode! We’re not done talking about Star Wars: Malik has a few suggestions for EA regarding Star Wars Battlefront on today’s Nerdist: Play. Let us know in the comments if we missed anything from the trailer! Did you get your tickets yet?
