CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Gets Weird and Silly In New Parody Trailer

In just under two weeks, Captain America: Civil War is tearing the Marvel Cinematic Universe apart in this year’s other superhero showdown movie. Most of the Nerdist team has already seen Civil War (you can read our review here), and we can say that the film has a great balance of action and comedy. But what if the comedy of Civil War was pushed into the realm of absurdity?

That’s exactly what happened in Aldo Jones’ newest weird trailer for Captain America: Civil War (via ComicBook.com). Jones’ tendency to give the lead performers grotesquely distorted faces may not play well for everyone, but there are some very funny touches in this video, including Cap’s refusal to take the Sokovia Accords seriously while playing with his Funko Captain America and Iron Man figures.

Other highlights from Jones’ weird trailer include Tony Stark as the Joker, the recurring glimpses of John Travolta’s Vincent from Pulp Fiction, the classic video game references, Iron Man’s built-in Ant-Man repellent, and a very unexpected appearance from Inside Out‘s Anger. On top of that, be on the look out for cameos from Batman, Forrest Gump, Homer Simpson, BB-8, Dark Helmet, Ernie, Captain Jack Sparrow, and a very pissed off Hulk who goes “Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk” on one of Marvel’s most beloved superheroes. That’s…gonna leave a mark.
