Butch Vig, Bill Walton, and More: Upcoming Podcasts

Another great week coming up at the Nerdist Podcast Network? Why, yes. Including (insert standard “subject to change” disclaimer here):

Butch Vig will be talking Garbage on the Nerdist Podcast, and Nirvana, too, of course. The producer and drummer is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Garbage with a new album, and he’ll be checking in with talk about his career, music documentaries, his Wisconsin roots, and recording with Paul McCartney.

We thought we’d have Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole on the The Jonah Keri Podcast last week, but an audible was called and we got Will Leitch instead (and it was great, so go back and check it out); the very patient Jay and Dan will be coming next week. In the meantime, we’ll have a couple of don’t-miss episodes this week: the inimitable… well, wait, everyone loves to imitate him, but when the real Bill Walton is the guest, you’re going to want to listen. I don’t think you need any more inducement. Legend. (And I love that he’s been tweeting about being into Pokemon GO. Following Bill Walton around San Diego watching him catch ’em all would be possibly the perfect entertainment.)

That’ll be Monday, and then on Friday’s edition of The Jonah Keri Podcast, one of the best national sports reporters, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, will be on hand — “Momo” has been breaking major stories for years, from that massive Ronda Rousey profile to everything Lakers and Clippers, and from way back when she was at the L.A. Daily News. (And her weekend ESPN Radio show with Michelle Beadle — they talk sports and harass Rachel Nichols about Game of Thrones — is worth your time, and it’s a podcast, too.)

Comedian and Professor Blastoff co-host David Huntsberger will be trading the facts and stuff on Today We Learned. And the newly resuscitated Nerdist Comics Panel will feature writing sisters Julie Benson and Shawna Benson (TV’s The 100, DC Comics).

It’s all going to be here on the site, and at the Nerdist Podcast Network homepage and Facebook page, and you can and should subscribe to one and all. You’ll want to listen to something other than convention coverage this week, after all.
