Britney Spears Meets TWIN PEAKS is the Mashup You Never Knew You Wanted

David Lynch’s cult classic television series Twin Peaks and pop icon Britney Spears are probably two things you’ve never thought of together at the same time. Ok, sure, both Twin Peaks and Brit-Brit first appeared and became famous in the ’90s, and both would no doubt be mentioned in one of those “I Love the ’90s” type TV specials. And you’d think that’s about where the similarities end. Although, come to think of it, Britney Spears’ short lived reality television series with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, Chaotic, actually did occasionally came across as a surrealist Lynchian nightmare.

Luckily, a YouTube user who goes by the wholesome name “Cholacunt” actually has thought of Britney Spears and Twin Peaks at the same time, and decided to mash-up her song “Everytime” from her 2003 album In The Zone, with Angelo Badalamenti’s theme from Twin Peaks, “Falling”. And believe it or not not, the combination is actually not too bad! Spears’ vocal stylings in this song aren’t too far off from Lynch and Badalamenti’s usual crooner, singer Julee Cruise, who appeared several times on Twin Peaks as the local roadhouse singer, laying down her angelic sounding vocals over Badalamenti’s score.

Maybe word of this mash-up could reach the ears of David Lynch and Mark Frost, and they could lure Britney away from Las Vegas for some kind of cameo appearance in the currently filming Twin Peaks revival? Maybe Britney as a washed up waitress at the Double R Diner? Or better yet, some kind of backwards talking Black Lodge spirit? It would either be the worst thing ever, or the coolest thing ever, no in between. In the meantime, you can listen to the entire “Everytime/Falling” mashup in the video above.
