Are We Getting a HARLEY QUINN Spin-Off?

Whaaaat? Harley Quinn might be ditching the Suicide Squad? That’s right, everyone’s favorite (tolerable) Suicide Squad member might get a spin-off flick of her very own, where she’ll get to further explore her relationship with Joker, and we’re stoked! All the best Harley stories involve her getting past the Joker‘s grasp to find some kind of independence, so obviously we’ve got a good idea of what we’d like to see in a solo flick…

One amazing story we’d love to see play out is her arc in “Mad Love” in Batman: the Animated Series. The story follows Harley as she decides to kill Batman to prove her love to Joker, ending with her renouncing of the Joker… at least temporarily. It’s an amazingly crazy/tragic storyline, perfect for encapsulating everything great about the clown princess of crime.

But when exactly might we get this perfect movie we deserve? Theoretically pretty soon… sort of. Recently on YouTuber ChewingSand‘s Tipsy Talk, Margot Robbie mentioned wanting a Harley/Joker spin-off, and three months ago the Hollywood Reporter broke the news that a Harley Quinn movie was already in development. But not just any Harley Quinn movie, no… be still my beating heart because word on the street is, it would be a big ol’ ladies of DC team-up flick. That’s right, all your favorite avian heroes like Batgirl and the Birds of Prey! Though details are scarce as of now, the project appears to be coming to life as a result of Robbie falling for DC’s characters as well as bringing on a female screenwriter to develop a pitch she brought to Warner Brothers.

While we can’t for sure say that flick will be a Joker/Harley story, there’s definitely enough material there to make a quality film. Plus, who better to help Dr. Quinzell out of a terrible relationship with a deranged clown-faced maniac than a group of your best friends… or frenemies? Also, we’re just putting this out there… what better time for an appearance by Poison Ivy after this break-up? Just sayin’.

But what about you guys? Do you want a Harley Quinn movie after Suicide Squad? What storylines do you want to see? It can’t just be me who wants to see an appearance from her on-again off-again girlfriend Poison Ivy, right? Let’s discuss!
