WTFridays: CIA Shares Declassified Documents for The X-FILES

We knew it all along: the X-Files are real! To celebrate the return of one of the best science-fiction TV shows of all time, this week the actual CIA highlighted a bunch of declassified documents related to UFO sightings and investigations. In a blog post adorably labeled “take a peek into our X-Files,” the agency shared documents mostly from the ’40s and ’50s, and broke them into two internet-friendly categories: “Top 5 CIA Documents Mulder Would Love To Get His Hands On” and “Top 5 CIA Documents Scully Would Love To Get Her Hands On.” As you can imagine, the first half is made for believers and the other five are for the skeptics. They wrap up the post with a link to 10-step instructions on how to conduct your own UFO investigation, so grab your flashlights and make Mulder proud! The truth is out there…

Join Jessica Chobot as she discusses the details of the documents shared by the CIA with resident-skeptic and science editor Kyle Hill, on today’s Nerdist News!

But that’s not all! Jessica also chats with totally-not-a-vampire-in-real-life Daniel Gillies, who plays Elijah on The Originals, airing Fridays at 9/8c on CW!

Thanks for watching today’s show! Be sure to check out Kyle’s episode of Because Science that takes a closer look at Mulder’s conspiracy theories.

Let us know in the comments below if you think these files are an admission from the CIA that aliens are real or just an admission that someone there is a huge Mulder & Scully fan!
