Which Heavy Hitter Game Company Won this Year’s E3?

E3! E3! E3! The illustrious entertainment expo known as E3 graced Los Angeles with its presence and brought with it another glimpse into the glorious world of gaming! As usual, companies big and small made appearances at the expo, each more impressive than the last. But who, oh who, of the major three gaming companies ‘won’ E3 this year?

With the emergence of so many new and impressive technologies, and game experiences being revolutionized on what feels like a weekly basis, it was almost too difficult to pick just one winner out of the Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft trifecta. Gaming-wise, Microsoft brought some cool stuff, including a Halo Wars sequel, a fourth Dead Rising, another Forza. Sony on the other hand came out with a brand new Spider-Man game, a release date for The Last Guardian, and… wait for it… the return of Crash Motherfucking Bandicoot, he’s back, baby! And we’re so excited!

But the world’s only famous bandicoot isn’t enough to compete with Nintendo that rose to the top of E3 with a single game we’re all losing our shit over: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And honestly, it’s… amazing. The Witcher/Skyrim inspired new Zelda was so popular (and awe-inspiring), it reigned supreme over every other game at E3 on the social media front. Zelda had a line so long, hopeful gamers had to get in line within 15 minutes of the Convention doors opening to even get in line. Madness, glorious madness! NINTENDO, TAKE YOUR CROWN. Take all the crowns!

Interestingly enough, perhaps riding the high off of Breath of the Wild, Nintendo, along with a surprising Microsoft, sat back and watched Sony take the cake by way of their announcement: the Project Morpheus line-up for October. In just a few short months, Sony will be releasing an insane fifty (that’s right, five-zero) games available at launch for Morpheus, the PS4 virtual reality headset. Among the fifty are a Star Wars Battlefront X-wing game, a Batman: Arkham experience developed by Rocksteady, and even a Final Fantasy 15 VR mini-game. This insane slate wins a whole new category for Sony. Sony VR wins all the VR awards of E3!

But what about you guys? Who do you think won E3? Are you already in line for your Morpheus? More psyched for Zelda or Crash Bandicoot‘s comeback? Are you still waiting for a Red Dead Redemption 2 appearance? Let’s discuss!
