We Break Down THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD Trailer

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Link’s next adventure!

We are feeling all of the emotions right now because the mysterious Legend Of Zelda Wii U/NX game Nintendo has been teasing finally has a full-fledged trailer. On top of that, the title of the game was revealed as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Based on how breathtaking the footage was, the title certainly fits. Today on Nerdist News, we break down the brand new trailer.

In the three minutes of footage that was  shown off, we got to see a ton of mechanics we’re particularly curious about. For starters, a parasail-like item (which has been featured in previous games) was shown off. It looks like Link can do a variety of other things including sneaking up on a wild horse to ride it, chopping down a tree to get across a ravine, hunting, rolling massive boulders to crush enemies, and magically lifting things out of the lake. Also, Link is wearing armor in a few of the scenes. The cool thing is, it looks like Link’s armor may have defense stats this time around. There was a lot of information to digest, but this definitely looks like the open-world game we were hoping for.

Story-wise, we were given a tiny tidbit of information. At the beginning of the trailer, we hear who I’m assuming is Zelda, urgently telling Link to open his eyes and wake up, insinuating that he’s been asleep for quite some time. While most of the gorgeous Hyrule footage shown off seems peaceful, a flash of lightning reveals ruins. We’re not sure what it all means, but we’re already intrigued.

The video’s official description is as follows:

“Step into a world of discovery, exploration and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. Travel across fields, through forests and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the ruined kingdom of Hyrule in this stunning open-air adventure.”

As Nintendo already revealed, the game will be playable on the show floor during E3. We’re not sure how much will be available, but we’ll definitely be checking it out and sharing our impressions. Stay tuned for updates on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, and the rest of our E3 coverage!
