The moment of truth arrived in last night’s season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead, as Negan brought his barbwire bat down on…someone. Actually, we totally called how this was gonna go, and who was getting their skull smashed in. But now, we’re looking ahead at the future of The Walking Dead, as today’s Nerdist News makes a few predictions about how the comic book’s storyline will play out in live-action!
Before we go any further, we have to point out that there are massive spoilers ahead for the season premiere! If you somehow managed to miss the first Walking Dead of the new season, then you really shouldn’t be watching this video!
Join Nerdist News host, and zombie whisperer, Jessica Chobot, as she takes a brief victory lap before offering a few theories about the biggest wildcard still on the table: Daryl Dixon. As one of the original characters created for the show, Daryl has never appeared in the Walking Dead comic, and therefore he wasn’t a part of the original Negan story. But everyone’s favorite ass-kicker is now everyone’s favorite hostage. How long will Negan keep Daryl imprisoned? Will Daryl ultimately be forced to become one of Negan’s Saviors as well?
Considering that Glenn was basically killed as payback for Daryl punching Negan, we do have to wonder how welcome he’d be back in Alexandria. Can Maggie forgive Daryl for that? And will he ever forgive himself?
Next week’s episode looks like it’s going to formally introduce “The Kingdom,” and that means King Ezekiel and his tiger are right around the corner. Does this mean that we’ll see “All-Out War” break out later this season? Or is The Walking Dead loading up for another multi-season storyline?
What do you think will happen next on The Walking Dead? Avoid any “vampire bats,” and let’s discuss in the comment section below!
