What That LEAKED DEADPOOL Clip Means for the Movie!

Alright, who’s sick of hearing about Comic-Con? It’s time we change the subject, right? Well, how about superhero movies that might never get made? That’d be a change. More or less.

On today’s Nerdist News, we’re blowin’ up the latest major movie leak – about two minutes of Deadpool test footage from attached director and Blur Studios head Tim Miller! It’s got action, it’s got comedy, it’s got a completely shattered fourth wall. In other words, it’s Deadpool! Hear our thoughts on what this leak could mean for the future of the flick, whether it’s on the right track, and whether we’d all be better off if the Merc with the Mouth returned to Marvel.

Enjoy today’s show, come on back for another serving tomorrow, and let us know in the comments below whether you think Ryan Reynolds is still the best man to take on the role of Wade Wilson!

Update: Blur Studios uploaded a HD version of the test footage to their official website.

Give me Ryan Reynolds as deadpool with hints of the avengers. i want it to be about deadpool. not deadpool and others. yes, we can show him messing with so many heroes because who wouldn’t wanna see that. but i want it to focus on deadpool alone. And deadpool does not do PG-13

  2. mike says:

I think a standalone Deadpool movie featuring Cable would be very, very interesting.  That leaked clip nailed Deadpool pretty darn well.  Fox needs to not screw up the character like they did in X-Men Origins.

  3. JohnM says:

The leaked footage was awesome, and sexy turquoise/ teal pants

  4. Darien Keenan says:

    Vote Pedro for Deadpool!

  5. Noah says:

Hell yeah he did awesome on the last blade can’t wait to watch this only without the PGA rating that will fracken suck. ..

  6. Spoiler alert!!!Just got done watching gardians of the galaxy. Howard the ducks in the end credits. Pretty cool!! And Cosmo the dog. A well known fact for the deadpool comic fans. Cosmo is deadpools dog given to him as a gift by Howard the duck. So they might be shareing a movie together pretty cool huh!!

  7. Erin says:

I don’t see why they should tone down the R rating. I mean, have you read the comics? Deadpool was anything but kid friendly…at least most of the time.

  8. George says:

I would prefer to see Deadpool handled in the way the test footage has shown, i’ve seen both versions of the test footage – high and low quality and I gotta say, even if fox only went with a cgi animated with reynolds doing vo work it would kick ass. That said, I’d rather NOT let the whedons get to it when the script as is garners raves from you guys and – for as much as I have seen – BLOWS MY FRIKKIN’ MIND!

  9. Steffen says:

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool? HELL yes! If they put ANYONE else in that role, I won’t even waste my time going. . .

  10. Tj Shields says:

I honestly would love for Ryan Reynolds to play as Wade Wilson. The problem is can he handle the physicality of playing the role? He isn’t the same guy he was back for Origins Wolverine. And considering the kind of stuff Deadpool does, can Ryan even do it? I believe he can, but that doesn’t mean he can. Honestly, I fear that Fox is going to screw this up and really butcher the character. Honestly the Execs don’t get the punch-line of Deadpool and they never will. They aren’t open enough to understand why people want this insanity made into a film. They see what happened with the video game and give up. Sad really because I LOVED the game. But I’m just a fan.

    • Pyrobob says:

Yeah, but as far as physicality goes, it doesn’t matter. Sean Conner could “play” Deadpool, because whichever actor actually plays him will, for all intents and purposes, be a voice actor to Deadpool’s full face-covering mask. So really, you just need someone that can deliver comedic lines, along w a good stuntman and some CGI, your main actor would rarely if ever have to even put on the suit.

    • Dude says:

Apparently it was Ryan in mocap suit doing all that

    Must have been pulled already.

    Completely agree

Why would DC Harley Quinn turn up in a Marvel film?
