FEAR THE WALKING DEAD Promotes Coleman Domingo to Series Regular

During the last two episodes of Fear The Walking Dead’s inaugural season, Coleman Domingo made a very strong impression as the enigmatic Victor Strand. Therefore, it should be no surprise that Domingo is slated to have a much bigger role going forward.

AMC has officially promoted Domingo to series regular for the second season of Fear The Walking Dead. Domingo is an accomplished theatrical actor and playwright, whose previous television credits include Nash Bridges, 11 different guest appearances on the Law & Order franchise, and a recurring role on The Knick. Domingo’s recent feature film credits include Lincoln, 42, Les Daniels’ The Butler, and Selma.

As revealed near the end of the first season of Fear The Walking Dead, Strand has a yacht named “Abigail” anchored offshore. That was a key part of the setup for season 2, as Strand will take in Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), Daniel Salazar (Rubén Blades), and the surviving members of their respective families as they attempt to flee California by sea. Strand also appears to have an agenda for Madison’s son, Nick (Frank Dillane), judging by the way that Strand went out of his way to save Nick’s life back at the army camp.

Fear The Walking Dead’s second season will be filmed in Baja, Mexico, which may mean that Strand and the assembled survivors will end up in Mexico as well. The 15-episode second season began production this week and Fear The Walking Dead will likely return to AMC this summer.
