Watch The Muppets Cover Paul Simon’s “Kodachrome”

As far as we’re concerned, there’s not a song in history that rock legends Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem can’t knock out of the proverbial park. With The Muppets back on ABC, we’re constantly gifted wonderful bits of modern Muppet entertainment with just the right amount of nostalgia. A recent video uploaded to The Muppets YouTube channel does a phenomenal job at pulling all the right heartstrings as the Muppet band perform Paul Simon’s 1973 hit, “Kodachrome”.

The video shows Electric Mayhem performing the song live in concert to an audience (that we assume is entirely made up of other Muppets) while the rest of the gang show up in a fun stage show photography montage (including the Piiiiiiiigs iiiiin Spaaaaaaace!). The song itself is mighty nostalgic, not just for the subject matter either. We cannot count the amount of times it’s been used in movies during scenes of good ol’ days gone by.

Never ones to ignore the modern, the montage of photographs in the video has hashtags interspersed, as well as some photo-shopping and color correction to make the stills look as if they were taken with a classic camera. Is there a kodachrome Instagram filter? If not, there should be.

As great as the Electric Mayhem rendition is, nothing can beat the Paul Simon original, which you can check out below.
