The perpetual space fugitive Richard B. Riddick, played by the gravelliest voice in the business, Vin Diesel, is back for his third live-action adventure, titled, fittingly, Riddick. The character first saw the light (pun completely intended) in the 2000 sci-fi/horror film Pitch Black directed by David Twohy. Four years later, things got a little more arch with The Chronicles of Riddick.
This time out, Riddick has been found by a gang of bounty hunters, among them Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff and former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista, but, wouldn’t ya know it, there’s nasty monsters on the rock planet that want to make mincemeat out of everybody. Looks like Riddick’s going to have to save the day again. He sure does save a lot of people for being a bad guy.

Looks awesome! I love Riddick….but an earlier post put it well…where does this fall within the series? I thought I saw a Necromonger in the band of bounty hunters…did I see right? Are they looking for payback as well?

I liked both Pitch Black and Chronicles. They both had a nice grit to them, and by the looks of the trailer this one does too. Sometimes I just want to see a bad ass do bad ass things, as long as it achieves that I shall be happy.
It’s impossible for me to tell what the plot is , but based on what I see in this trailer it looks very similar to Pitch Black. I hope this isn’t the case because I have high hopes for this movie because Chronicles of Riddick is an awesome movie.
I’ve waited and waited for this day. I hope Richard B’s deposing from the Necros gets more than a simple narrated glossing over and another “I left him for dead” scene to start the new movie.
I think it looks awesome. Is this post Chronicles though? I don’t see how it ties in.
