Tom Cruise Hangs Outside a Flying Plane for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5

Tom Cruise has been known for many things throughout his career, but one thing he’s become famous for in recent years is his penchant for stunt work. Whenever possible, especially in his action/adventure films, Cruise does as many of his own stunts as possible. This is what has led the actor to try his hand at many dangerous activities, including that time he climbed the tallest building in the world in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. So how do you to something like that? By doing something even more awesome in the next installment of your espionage series, of course!

During filming of the upcoming fifth entry in the M:I franchise back in September, Cruise was spotted — wait for it — hanging from a plying plane. Don’t believe us? Well, thanks to The Daily Mail, there are pictures and video to prove it:

Oh yeah, Cruise is not one to let his last film define a legacy. If need be, he will strap himself to the outside of a door 5,000 ft in the air jut for the sake of a shot. Though we don’t know what the sequence is about, we can only imagine the madcap hijinks that will ensue when Tommy Cruise is back in action.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the new film will see the return of Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Jeremy Renner, in addition to new cast members Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, Simon McBurney, and Zhang Jingchu.

Mission: Impossible 5 hits theaters Christmas 2015.
