If you think that the lack of heavy metal at Christmas (save for Christopher Lee, of course. RIP.) is alarming, Samurai White is an Etsy designer who needs to be on your radar, because she is hitting all the right notes with her custom heavy metal nutcrackers. She’s handcrafted David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, Joey Ramone, Keith Richards, Iggy Pop, and more, into stylish 8″ tall nutcrackers.
And aww shucks, they’re oh so cute. Each rockstar has a different painted acrylic outfit, with unique hair styles and facial expressions. Cracking nuts has never been such a conversation starter!
Samurai White studied Graphic Design at the Rhode Island School of Design, and now translates science-y and heavy metal things into works of art. She was inspired to make custom heavy metal nutcrackers after she made a replica of Alice Cooper out of a stock nutcracker from a Christmas tree shop. You know, like one does.
I’m afraid it’s my duty to inform you that the deadline for custom Christmas orders has passed, but don’t worry your pretty little head. Any orders placed now will be completed by January 31, 2016. Cracking nuts doesn’t have to be an exclusive Christmas activity, guys. If your interest is piqued, check out Samarai White’s Tumblr page for more rad photo’s, and see some current works in progress, like a very awesome looking Nick Cave.
So, what do you think of these nutcrackers? Which rocker would you want to have in nutcracker-form? Reach out on Twitter, or sound off in the comments below.
